Proper Crimbo!

I read an interesting article today that was discussing privacy and an individual’s right to it. It was mainly in response to the new ID card legislation but it is applicable specifically because it cited blog’s. To sum it up it was asking why the blogging population was so vocal and anti-ID cards when many of them are so eager to express most intimate details of their lives on a publicly viewable website. I am inclined to agree with what the article surmised however personally I’m happy to be a hypocrite.
Hypocritically I’m also going to make a brash statement contrary to my usual stance of “oohhhhh Christmas is all about the family and giving” and admit I probably rank getting presents as my favourite thing! And while we’re on the topic of Christmas I think a quick run-down of all the pillaging and spoils is in order.
Digital Adjustable Soldering Iron
Auto-Ranging Multi-meter
T-Shirts, billabong, next and other surf ones
Jumper……mmm wool
Books, serious and rude.
Shure E2c Headphones
Tool Kit, includes hammer etc etc
Mohooney in the range of 70.
+ Many more nice things.
Quite a geektastic list I’m sure you’ll agree but what can I say? I am! Headphones are downright dangerous seeing as they cancel out everything that isn’t the sound of your own breathing but they sound awesome for in-ear things. I plan on spending the cash towards a 22” monitor in February when I have saved some more cash on top.
With that all over and done with I guess I should get on with the usual description of who I saw and talked with, but that’s the kind of monotonous drivel I resigned myself to not writing. Therefore I shall be sticking with the game plan and stay with the borderline gloating and over bearing badly constituted and down right shoddy opinions.
Have also been looked after all week by Lydia who has made sitting around on the sofa an even easier task by obeying my every wish and command regarding drink and DVD changing. Shame really, I feel like I owe a large piece of my soul for every lazy request. In fact I’m proud (more like ashamed) to admit I have put on 5pounds just in the last 2 weeks. Not that it really bothers me all that much but when bra companies are sending you magazines, (as I currently am) you can’t help but feel it’s a sign.
Hit me back with your lists of Santa goodies and leave me a hello on my spamtastic tagboard. Oh and could the person who keeps sending me emails just to make my phone go off please stop it. It was funny the first 40 times. Not any more!
Till next time,
Sam

New Toys

My new toys….
If you’ve seen me recently you’ll know i had trashed my 6280 through a series of bumps, scrapes and me generally treating it like shit.
Anyway i had enough and phoned three and asked for a new phone. They said yes and gave me 10 months half price on a 12 month contract as a bonus. Cashback! Something about being a valued customer or something. £45 a month i better be fucking valued!
Anyway as i mentioned i got a new Nokia E61 which is packed full of all the usual crap a gadget whore like me wants, but definitely doesn’t need. Well except a camera but then i have a digi cam for that. Anyway yeah it has Wi-Fi and very nice screen along with lots of funky apps to write word docs etc so i can convince myself I’m working while i play on the train.
Also quite important to note that you can now contact me via email (sam @ sam - t .co.uk missing the spaces). This email will get to me as fast as a text and it costs you nothing! Told you it was a good gadget.

Mmmmmm……………tasty

A blatant pimp shot of my laptop and phone coz i think they look sexy.
Please direct worship for such a great purchase in the comments.
Anyway i have also been attempting to write loads and loads of essays this week which is stressing me out some. In fact this blog post is classic procrastination with Word open in the background and books from the library i never plan on using sitting on my bedside table. If I’m writing it must be good! Anyway i have finished one essay totalling 8,123 words + database and handed that in but i still have an essay on the future of a technology i don’t even know its current state. Then its an onto an interim report for a project that is so far behind its project plan it may as well be a project specification. Thanks to Lyd for keeping me sane with nice words of support.
Hopefully i’ll still know what a beer looks like when i’ve finished. Talking of which i will be back in Nottingham from the 17th so include me in nights out please. I’m going to need it.
Till next time,
Sam out
