I love my course layout!!!
I love my course layout!!! So this week I was absolutely ill as a 6 year old kid with a combination of Super Aids, Lupus, Leprosy and the Black Death. Suffice to say I felt like I had even less than the usual 3 days to live. Fortunately I had something to look forward to on Wednesday as I went to London to see Lydia for 5 Days. Nothing quite like a girlfriend to make you feel better! Especially one that makes great dinners and a cracking cup of tea.
So I arrived on Wednesday afternoon with the above cocktail of illness still hanging over me ready to collapse seeing as I’d just spent 2 hours on the train. Not the most comfortable thing to do if you’re over 6 foot. Actually I think that’s a bit nice on them. It’s probably more like 4 foot before those seats are comfortable, and that’s only because you can lie down on them and sleep through the journey. So all ready to collapse I arrived at Lydia’s new flat which was looking nice and homely now she’d had chance to move in. Unfortunately Lyd had other plans for my banging headache and if I’m truly honest I was ready to go with any plans she had seeing as I was looking for an excuse to go watch the United match. So off we went to the UCL union for some “cheap” and I emphasis the sarcasm quotes around cheap seeing as it was like £2+ a pint. So I watched the match and was feeling better (beer goggles work in mysterious ways), so in my infinite wisdom we decided to go clubbing to the Roxy. Basically its 5th Ave without the coolers, cheap drinks and more importantly it’s filled full of southern wankers. Yes I know I’m being generalised but it’s very rare I meet a genuine southerner that doesn’t make me clench fists and raise an eyebrow to how they pronounce tomato. Suffice to say Thursday was not a fun morning.
Spent most of Thursday doing a project specification for Uni while Lydia was in lectures and then Thursday night went to bed still nursing a not so great hangover. Friday was a house party in deepest darkest Camden where budvar flowed as did the vodka jelly. The inevitable happened and I spent Saturday morning in bed with my eyes closed curing hangover2. My mum would be proud. Went out shopping on Portobello road in the Afternoon which was something I’ve never done and it was amazing. Saw loads of random stuff and had a nice pile of bangers and mash for dinner. Hangover didn’t help though and I think I probably got moodiest award of the week while wandering round some random food store that jut made me feel ill. Did manage to get a collection of Judge Dredd comics though which I plan on framing and hanging on my wall. Well I think it’d look awesome. I think Lydia just thinks I’m a big kid spending money on comics.
Sunday was protest day and we joined the thousands of students in Trafalgar square protesting the introduction of top-up fees and the idea of uncapping the amount a degree costs. I think anyone would agree that uncapping the amount a university can charge is just asking for trouble. The main issue being the further divide between those that have no money being able to get the education that they deserve and worked hard for and the rich southern wankers just turning up at Oxford because their daddy has a bank.
Anyway I type this now on a Virgin train on the way back to Manchester with 3 hours of the killer 4 hour journey remaining. Somehow I doubt my legs will survive the entire journey.
Till next time,
Sam out

Illness Sucks
I wonder if I can keep this entry below 300 words? I always seem to write essays for my blogs!
Anyway I am currently struggling to breathe, talk and swallow as I have been attacked by a nasty virus with less regard for my welfare than the scallys outside my window kicking rocks. I think I might need to break my 10 month absence from a doctor’s surgery and get some penicillin.
In the meantime I am currently in the middle of a re-format with the pc. It’s taken me 2 years since I last did it and since I pressed delete I had an awful feeling something would go wrong. Unfortunately I was right and I had forgotten to backup my documents folder. That’s just about every piece of work I’ve done in the last 2 years. Doh! So today I went to the pub to watch Man U vs. Liverpool which was ok but it was slightly ruined by the fact that I couldn’t drink, cheer or even discuss fantasy football teams. Nicht so Gut.
Last bit of ‘fun’ news is that I have managed to crack my phone screen. Yeah I know. It’s been a shit few days. Hopefully it’ll be healthy up by the time I go to see Lyd on Wednesday and I can stop feeling sorry for myself. And on that bombshell and a grand total of 246 words thats the end of this chapter.
Till next time,
Sam out
