Pro Evo Tournament
Ok so it was pro evo night. Time for some serious Button Bashing.
Tommy had sorted out a nice scoreboard complete with a wipable laminate covering and as the initial leagues were populated it soon became clear one was muchos harder than the other. I was put in a group with Tommy (Inter Milan), Paul (Arsenal), Lamberto (Man U) and Phil (Chelsea) with me playing as AC Milan.
First match was against Lambert and i won 4 -2, however i should have creamed him but i was too nervy and Kaka missed a few sitters. Still 3 points in the bag.
Next up was Tommy, and since he basically taught me how to play it was a definate Jedi Vs Padduan Battle, even down to the derby teams. Anway i opened the scoring and in a brilliant game where we each went behind then came back again, the scoring ended 4 - 3 to Tommy with a last minute goal and me missing a easy one in the last minute. Awesome game.
Next up was Phil with Chelsea. Phil wasn’t on form and had been trashed by both lambert and paul so i was expecting an easy win, although the luck ran out and he beat me 1 - 0 as he got a soft penalty early in the game. This may as well have ended my chances of getting to the Semi’s
Last game was against Paul and seeing as he was on form beating lambert 8 - 0 i needed to put 5 past him which was nigh on impossible. Score went to 4 - 2 with Paul getting some late goals as i saw the chance of winning slippping away.
All in all a quality night with Paul eventually walking away the winner thanks to Henry’s amazing ability to score from any angle at any time. Tommy has to have a special mention as he went the first few games without losing even beating Paul convincingly in the first round. Loads of fun though and the game between Angus and Arran has to have gone down in true Stoner history.
